El Mercado del Pueblo, the Mexican market/deli turned deli/market, closed a few weeks ago. Too bad, it started off so well too.

Beignets, meanwhile, is set to open in less than two weeks. We don't like directing people to Facebook, but what the hell, jump over to Beignets's page. Interiors and food are looking promising.

The Viking, like we mentioned on the Twitter, is set to re-open under new management.

The city is selling Anthony's building according to the S-R, so... Yeah, looks like Anthony's will be kicked out, unless they end up buying the joint. 

Bowl'z Bitez and Spiritz opened lazt week, downtown. We're zure it'z zuper!
